Grower Account Manager
Sakata Ornamentals EMEA is looking for an experienced Grower Key Account Manager to manage commercial relationships with industrial pot & bedding plant growers and strategic partners. The goal is to maximize financial performance by increasing market share through strategic business relationships with industrial growers via direct sales and strategic partners via indirect sales. The role involves providing technical advice, for both seed and cutting propagated varieties. Develop market for strategic products, translate the trials result and market information as input for the product management decisions in the North-West European market. Translate the market needs into a forecast for the direct sales and supply input the forecast direction for indirect sales.
In this role you report to the Commercial Division Manager in conjunction with your peers (Wholesale) Sales Dept. Manager and Product Manager Team.
Grower Account Manager
Full Time - Location: Hoofddorp, The Netherlands - Start date: Per direct or by mutual agreement
Key Responsibilities
- Drive direct sales at the industrial growers and support indirect sales at strategic partners.
- Provide technical advice and product information to growers and partners.
- Set up and design commercial trials to demonstrate the value of our genetics.
- Judge trials, collect input from growers and report findings including market potential and strategic direction to product management.
- Can manage the commercial assortment for the grower distribution level both seed and
cutting propagated. (Which can be differentiating from the wholesale distribution level). - Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners in the market.
- Monitor and analyse market trends and competitors' products, and report insights to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain market database for assigned products.

- Able to manage the avoidance of channel conflicts between Sakata, wholesale partners and grower-sale with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to translate genetic advantages into opportunities within commoditised markets.
- Synthesize and integrate information from multiple sources to generate insights.
- Communicate effectively with growers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage activities and achieve goals efficiently.
- Seek and understand input from others to gain broad alignment.
- Maintain discretion and respect confidentiality
Your Profile
- Thorough understanding of the horticultural industry both seed and cutting propagated potbedding plants
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- HBO (Bachelors) competence level and mentality or similar proven experience.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.• Analytical, strategic, and creative thinker.
- Willing to travel frequently in North-West Europe at average of 40% of FTE.
- Confident and capable presenter in English and Dutch. German is a plus!
- Hands-on approach and enthusiastic attitude.
