Tasting new varieties, extensive field tours, sharing knowledge, meeting valuable partners and stakeholders. Last week was dominated by the 'Openfield Days' in Bakersfield for our colleague Maarten van Fraassen.
Bakersfield is known as the home of the table grape industry. We attended the Openfield days of respectively Sun World International, BLOOM FRESH and Grapa Varieties (ARRA). As grape specialists, we cannot let these days go by unnoticed.
Maarten van Fraassen tasted beautiful varieties, saw interesting sustainable innovations and had interesting conversations about future developments.
It is a privilege to give feedback on grape varieties that have sometimes taken more than 10 years to develop. We are positive!
